never was and never will be

Everyone says Christmas is about giving, not receiving; it's the thought that counts; its a joyous time of year, it shouldn't be material... well, as bad as this sounds, people like material things. Its part of human nature to be attached to material possessions. If you give someone a present, it makes them feel special, loved, and wanted. Getting a gift isn't about gifts - I mean, sure, partly - but its more about the fact that someone cares enough to go out and fight the crowds just for you. It's nice.

Maybe I'm being too idealistic again.
